Mortar Board Honors Retired Faculty and Staff
On Nov. 1, the honor society hosted its 23rd Annual Emeritus Administrator, Faculty and Staff Outstanding Service Awards Ceremony.
The SDSU chapter of the Mortar Board National Honor Society will honor three faculty and staff members at their 23rd Annual Emeritus Administrator, Faculty and Staff Outstanding Service Awards Ceremony. The event took place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Mediterranean Garden. A brunch and program followed in East Commons.
Honorees this year include:
* Bill Erickson, former vice president of Business and Financial Affairs
* Anne-Charlotte Harvey, emeritus professor of theatre
* The late Steven Collins, former director of government and community relations
Harvey taught at SDSU from 1970 until her retirement in 2003. While at SDSU, she consistently promoted international programs and the internationalization of the curriculum.
Her commitment to study abroad led to service at the California State University level, as well as on campus.Today, she continues to support the musical theatre MFA program's
link with Gothenburg University in Sweden.
The Mortar Board award honors retired administrators, faculty and staff who gave generously of themselves to the university, its students and the community. Award recipients are memorialized through the placement of a bronze plaque at the base of a campus tree.
